Bernard Chandran’s show today was bright, bold and confident. Splashes of strong orange, red, pink offset more classic hues of deep velvety navy and black.
There were superpositions, patterns and patches of lace and silk attached to otherwise quite tailored outfits. The trend was a total look: if Bernard chose an acid orange or a fluoro pink for an all-feather dress, the tights, lips and shoes – designed by Giuseppe Zanotti – had to match.
The result was not subtle, but the strong statements made the show, and impressed the crowd which came in particularly high number today to watch this long collection by a rainy Saturday afternoon. Celebrity guests included Diana Vickers and Keisha Buchanan (sitting down next to me!) front row who came to support the rising young designer.
