The Queen of British Fashion, Dame Vivienne Westwood, presented her Red Label collection at the Royal Courts of Justice this week.
In the grand venue, and to a dramatic soundtrack, models including Daisy Lowe trotted the runway in a medley of signature Westwood including bouffant blouses, Victorian jackets and printed scarves, all with painted faces, gold embellishments and sculptured hair with crowns.
The inspiration for the collection was “London life, and its historical Portobello market that draws all classes of society.” Also  strong references to Lewis Carroll’s “Alice through the looking glass”, countryside gentry, and “the kids returning from nights out” popped throughout the show.
Overall, Vivienne summed up her mad tea party collection perfectly: “It is about Britishness”.
