Yesterday I attended a catwalk show at Harrods – as a prelude to London Fashion Week. All in the brand new Contemporary Collections Space on the First Floor of the famous Luxury Emporium.
Yet the show was about the Spring/ Summer 2011 collections – currently available at Harrods – and more targeted to customers and VIP than Press. The great thing about it is that when you see something you love, you can go and buy it directly – especially as we had a sheet with all the prices for the items from the show – and guests were treated like royalty with Champagne, Ladurée macaroons and generous goody bags with lovely Missoni accessories and Givenchy products.
The brands on the show were Moschino Cheap & Chic – just ordered a bag, I fell in love with it! – Paule Ka, Elie Tahari, M Missoni, Philosophy by Alberta Ferretti, Nicole Farhi, DKNY, Joseph and D&G. All the best of the “diffusion” lines, that don’t usually get much of a show, or much exposure.
Better organised than most fashion week shows, more affordable, and more commercially sound… I wish I was invited to more Customers’ shows. Thank you Harrods – I will be back soon!
