Studs obsession

As part of my inescapable descent towards menswear adoration, I have slowly been obsessed with this latest Prada ad campaign, the hardness and shiny finish of studs on wool, and the hypnotising and mysterious look of that peculiar ephebe, a model that Hedi apparently found in Coachella. Oh, and that Slimane touch, on the soft black and white picture gives this campaign a modern yet timeless aura, and makes the whole collection beyond covetable – unlike the womenswear ads. Not to mention the omnipresent trend of studs, sequins, metal and other embellishments. A modern aesthetics right on trends for the 2010 men. Am I weird, or do you agree?

  1. Nice picture!
The studs obsession … why not but here it is just quite too much.

  2. Yes, yes and more yes. I love the fact that it is studded knitwear, it makes such a beautiful contrast. And I love that it isn’t harsh, it is more like a jeweled piece if anything. I really do want that coat on the left! Hope you’re having a super fun Halloween weekend 🙂

  3. Christophe: I don’t think it’s too much 😉
Dapper Kid: Agreed! You would look über-dapper in that coat, Dear! Had a nice Halloween, hope you did too! 🙂 x

  4. You are not weird!! This is a good view of modernity… I also apreciate the Slimane touch: black and white and young ephebes…
