Mariano Vivanco star photographer

Born in Peru, Mariano now divides his time between London and New York and has become one of the most respected photographers on the fashion scene. From now iconic Dazed & Confused covers to the latest Dolce & Gabbana underwear campaign, he is the man behind some of the most sensual and remarkable fashion imagery that has been done in the past decade.

A true multi-talented creative, Mariano is most of all passionate about fashion, beauty, faces and music, which led him to experiment with new supports of expression for his creativity, such as films, books and exhibitions. But his latest project is the ‘Team Vivanco blog, a more personal addition to his impeccablewebsite. Started with his assistant Phillip, the blog is like a backstage pass to his editorials and campaigns, an insight behind-the-scenes with a star photographer, that allow him to share his day-to-day experiences, travels, anecdotes and unseen images.

Read my exclusive interview with him on fabulous fashion resource F.TAPE, where Mariano reveals all about his inspirations, his ongoing collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana, and his personal views about the future of photography and changing perceptions of beauty. A passionate and fascinating journey into the world of a beauty-maker.

  1. This is amazing work!

  2. Such stunning work, his portraits have such a power to them. And I love the somewhat cheeky slant lol. Oh wow, thanks for the link to his new blog dear, I am absolutely loving it so far. Amazing to think that such an amazing talent could have spawned from a simple photography course. Although I guess that is the beauty of the world. And oh my, I really do think Kendra Spears is stunning, can’t wait to see her in more shoots!

Hope you’re having an absolutely beautiful weekend 🙂

Fiorella: Thank you. it’s true that we don’t hear about many Peruvian artists around here. Yet I guess Mariano’s work is influenced by his cosmopolitan background, since he has lived all over the world. Thanks for the comment!
